Depends on the water type. Chlorine is bad for your hair. I knwo there are some Saltwater pools out there and I don't think thats good for your hair either. Me personally I haven't had time to see if it effects my stuff but you should PM Chrisdog212 he swims and has 360's.

Wassup everyone, I'm new to this forum and the whole wave thing. I was going to make a post but being ony various other forums (different hobbies of mine) I knew people would get mad if I asked questions that have already been answered. So I decided to post them here.
Anyway last Wed. I got my first hair cut in a while, I went to a new barber as my old barber went MIA. I got a taper (taped in the back) and I noticed that I had little ripples in my head. I always wanted waves but just was to lazy and never tried to get them. After seeing these ripples and getting more into fashion and caring more and more how I look everyday I decided to take the time everyday and brush my hair and try and get them. My first step to getting waves was to find some type of forum, I lucked out and found 2 great ones including this one.
Anyway I'm talking about countless stuff you prob dont care about, so far since joining this forum I learned that most people get a Dark Ceaser and not a taper. So I have a few questions about haircuts, first
-What is WTG, I think its with the grain but when you tell your barber that what exactly are you telling him? Telling him to cut your hair in the pattern you brush it, and what do you mean when you say like a 1.5 WTG or 2 WTG. What do the #'s stand for. I pretty much know how to get the waves, using the pomades and brushing and the H20 effects and all that. I just need help with the hair cut part, I want to make sure when I get my haircut all my hard work in wavin' dont go to waste. Hope this message made sense, I pretty muched typed my thoughts as they came so anyway, please help.

Welcome to the site. WTG does stand for "With the Grain". Barbers should know about the waves and how to cut your hair with waves in it. But if he/she doesn't, just fill them in on waves. 1.5 and 2 are guards and the WTG is the direction the barber cuts your hair. Hopefully this helps you. Also I believe a 1.5 = 1/8 guard, 2 = 1/4 guard
