Once upon a time, there was an actress named Jenna Elfman who let her hair grow into a longer beautiful style, even as she was very pregnant. This made some of her fans very happy.
Then one day, Jenna gave birth to a baby.
Not long after that, Jenna got her hair cut, disappointing her fans who hoped she would keep her hair long, but perhaps satisfying her need for a new, simpler, albeit more matronly style, especially with baby in tow.
One possible moral of the story: Be happy with what you have while you have it, for it may be gone tomorrow.
And the next time someone claims that women with long hair don't get their hair cut short after having a baby, please remind them of the Jenna Elfman story.
Still, I wonder why, if she wanted a simpler style because she became a mommy, she chose long bangs that she'll need to push or swing to the side and out of her eyes approximately every 3.5 seconds...
Your hair is your best accessory; wear it with STYLE!
This is very dissapointing but, it doesn't suprise me. I guess she thought she had to follow the old trend of getting your hair cut after having a baby. And she sure did hack it off.

How about she was tired of blow drying her hair for an hour and wanted to play with her child instead, so she cut it into a sexy style. Then she realized that it doesnt take anywhere near as long to get ready to go anywhere. I for one think that her hair cut is really chic and great looking.

To me, she's always been more of a short-haired girl. Some actresses get a short cut, but return to long hair, usually the short cut is at the start of a new TV show, and as the show goes on, the hair gets longer. Jenna Elfman always seems to start with short hair, grow it out, then return to short hair.

Looks like Jenna's clock has struck midnight. Not too bad, but not as cute as her Dharma pixie, and definitely not as ravishing as her wavy tresses. A s Mike often says, "Oh well!" (lol) Bob

Your new word for short hair is "matronly"? Major rolleyes. She looks better with the short hair. And no, she doesn't have to have a baby to cut her hair, and once that hair is cut she CERTAINLY doesn't have to carry that baby with her everywhere she goes. Let's have a jump into the present-day, okay?

I didn't want to answer your terse remarks on Good Friday, but that ended 43 minutes ago where I live, so....
Bottom line: If you can say "She looks better with short hair" as if that's the definitive answer for everyone and there is no argument or room for discussion, then I can say her hair now looks more matronly. It's that simple. I said it today, which, to me, is present day. We have opinions. You have yours. I disagree. See? We all win. My question about her baby was CERTAINLY a connection between her being out on the town (as a new mother) and not having a baby along for the ride and had nothing to do with her hair or her baby's hair for that matter. Speaking of "major rolleyes": "Rowlingfan?" What are you, like 12? Feel free to hit and run any time, but expect to get it in return from me. That will probably disappoint several of the regulars around here, who will no doubt take your side. But I'm cool with that. Hal, fatmoo, ssjock, you're on.

Kramer, Kramer, Kramer...where to begin...since you did ask...
First off, I didn't know you were the Jenna Elfman haircut authority. If you look at Jenna Elfman over the years, you would have seen that her hair has been getting shorter and shorter over the past six months. There was no mommy chop. She GRADUALLY went shorter.
Her signature style, like it or not, is short hair. During her time on "Dharma and Greg" she started out with the short hairstyle most (read not all) people loved on her. She grew it out, only to cut it back short, all while she was on the show. She grew her hair out again, experimented with different styles, you know (or maybe you don't) changed her hair to suit HER mood, not anyone else's.
What annoys me the most, is you assume her, and most celebrity women, cut their hair because they are compelled to, not because they want to. At least that is how most of your posts "lamenting" the loss of long hair come across.
Do you think it is some defect of character if a woman wants a different look that doesn't fit in with your vision of what women should look like? I will believe Jenna Elfman cut her hair BECAUSE SHE WANTED TO, not because she had a baby. Also, just maybe, she could possibly look good with short hair. I find that most women look good with long or short hair, as long as it is a good style and in good condition.
As for Rowlingfan, I myself have read all seven books and I'm 45. Just hope Rowlingfan doesn't hit you with the Bat Bogey Hex! Lighten up Kramer, and try, just once, to see the other side of the arguement.
Oh yes, Happy Easter

I think Kramer's reply was balanced and reasonable until the part beginning: "Speaking of major roll eyes..." until the end. This reminded me of an earlier statement of Bob's concerning Kramer: "He (Kramer) has a petulant streak about a mile wide."
