Hey ladies, Have just applied my 1st lace wig, yipeee!!!! It wasnt has bad as i thought it would be. I used Eurabond and I tellu this stuff sticks like nothing. Anywayz the only problem i have is that the grida are showing like nothing. I tried putting makeup inside the lace but that didnt do the trick. I know sexi mentioned the steri- but where do i get it and also do i apply it allover the perimeters as well, coz if u look real close u will so the grids all over. Someone, anyone pls help. I will post pics as soon as i get the grids right. Thanks y'all.
look in the newbie thread there's a picture of me ( i think page 3) and it shows my natural part tip and you'll see how to do it.. then look at jadevetti's post she's wearing the steri strips too.. its another technique you need to learn to get rid of the grid..
If you don't want to wait for something to be shipped you can try the burn care tape that I use. It's at most drug store chains and it looks like this:
They're made out of a gel-like material that feels like skin and your lace will disappear when you put it underneath. HTH

is them silicon sheets curly? i used them too after my tummy tuck surgery..LOL
curlygirl, is the tape clear and do i need to put makeup on the strip?? thankx gal
if they are silicon sheets they are clear, but i don't know cuz that's not what i use.. the steri strips are flesh tone color...BTW don't make me get to thinking cuz i got some silicon sheets left over i might how to figure something out.. no i'm too tired right now..
Yes, they are silicone sheets and they seem kinda gel-like. They are flesh colored and 1 entire side already has adhesive on it and the other side is smooth and feels like skin. Because the gel is slightly cushy the lace seems to sink down into it a little bit and it disappears. No need for make-up brushes or powders.
I LOVE them. I gotta say thank you to Breh and SexiB because their tape method is what gave me the idea to try these. I don't always wear a fixed part and these sheets are wider. However, my real motivation was that I was trying to avoid having to pay shipping and didn't want to wait for the strips to come.

that's great alternative.. i know how they are, they are like gel..i used them after my surgery, i also used the steri strips after my surgery and that's how i came up with that idea.. b/c i loved them, they both worked great for my scars altho i did sweat with the silicon sheets wearing them b/c they are a little thicker but a great idea none the less.. and YES they come wider but so do the steri strips b/c all the scar management treatments come in different shapes and sizes depending on the scar your trying to heal.. so i'll consider this next time.. thanks for the tip!!!
so did you use an adhesive to make them stick to the lace? b/c as i remember they don't automatically stick, there was no sticky side when i used them i had to use a medical tape to keep them on..

No, they already come with an adhesive coated on 1 side of them. All you do is unwrap it and stick it where you want it to go on your lace. I think the only time someone might need to add something extra is if they want to change the color of the tape from beige to a darker color then they could follow the suggestions you already gave about that on BHM. Or they could pm JadeVetto cuz she seems to have that down to a science. Was her app with that tape method the bomb or what ??

no that was jadevetti, but that's good to know b/c its been a while since i used the silicon sheets my surgery was in 2001 YIPEE.. anyway thanks for explaining i'm still waiting for jadevetti to tell me all she did.. from what i gather she also used a wig cap dark brown so i think she must have added the steri strip underneath to the cap.. anyways as soon as i get confirmation form her i'm gonna add her's and your's to the newbie thread thanks... and of course i'll do my own experimentation with the silicon sheets..
girl i'll never forget that b/c i'm still emotional over her application.. it was soooooooooooo important to me that the tip worked for all women of color and she proved it worked for all of us.. so i'm teary eyed over that one..

You could try it but I don't think so because regular bandaids have holes in them and they have that white cloth part on the side you would adhere to the lace.
