I was wondering since most people here like 'thick hair', what do they consider to be thick. Is it from the appearance or the diameter of the hair shaft, or is it bushy hair? For comparison's sake what would be considered as thin hair?

Well here is my opinion, though I am sure there will be others that have different opinions. The appearance of thick hair can be caused by both the quantity of hairs on the head as well as the thickness (texture?)of the individual hairs. To give you an example, my hair is fine in texture, but I have a lot of it so it appears thick. A good friend of mine has very coarse hair, however, she doesn't have alot of hair but her hair also appears thick. Yet if you were to put both of our hair into ponytails, mine would be bigger where it was gathered. Anyone else have ideas?Take care,Noreen> I was wondering since most people here like 'thick> hair', what do they consider to be thick. I think of thick hair in terms of quantity of hair, not quality (fine, average, course texture). When you say "bushy," I think texture.Jade

Well, I think Noreen IS the very definition of thick hair. Thick is when you let it loose does it cover your whole body all around? Is your ponytail as big as your wrist? Noreen's hair, Cher's hair, Karen's hair, that's thick, which is different from course as in bushy or curly. Me, I'm the definition of thin. My ponytail is about one pigtail on any of the girls above. When my hair is short it just hangs there like a limp noodle. But I don't think its good to get bogged down in worrying about whether your hair is thick enough or not. Its very much something that's genetic just like your color or your skin and you can't change what you're born with. No amount of vitamins or hair care products can give me hair like Noreen's, you get what you get, learn to appreciate your own uniqueness and make the effort to have the best hair YOU can have.Best wishes to all!Dawn
