I am going to have them put in this weekend and have heard mixed opinions. My black girlfriends say do it. My white female friends say it hurts. I am going either way, but I am nervous on how real this is going to feel. I have short hair now and I know everyone will notice 100%, but I want it to feel like real hair.

They don't really hurt, it's just that the first couple of days it feels a little tight due to the braiding of the hair which you will get used to. As far as them feeling like real hair, as long as you have a very good quality hair extension put in, and you take very good care of the extensions, I think you will really enjoy them. I really like them. I go about every 10 weeks and have them tightened.Good luck!!Ellen

I had super cheapo extensions put in when I had braids, but I didn't keep them long enough to ever have them tightened... how is that done?Jennifer> I had extensions put in almost a year ago. I had them (three rows of them, two would have been plenty!) and had a hard time sleeping the first couple of nights. Then one night I washed my hair in the bathtub - just sank under the water - and developed a KNOT the size of a fist! (Real hair) It took HOURS to get the knot out and I almost had to call my hairdresser for help! Needless to say, I had them removed when they began to loosen and that was it for me!!!! I have fine hair anyway and I felt as though I lost more hair due to the tight little braids. But that was because I hadn't brushed my REAL hair in weeks. I say... go at your own risk! I still have the little 'scalps' lying in a drawer somewhere!

>Dear Debbie,I SO sympathise with you, 1 year ago I had Humanhair extensions I won't say the name or I may offend someoneas extensions are ok for some!, but NOT ME!! I had 160 strands put in (i'm still trying to re-save the wasted cash of $2,000.00 AU) I looked after them exactly as the company that distributes them & the extension artist that put them in, after 3 nights of hell I washed my new hair I nearly went crazy!!, they had knotted so badly I used a whole bottle of frizz ease(that was after half a bottle of cond, as they were 27inches long!,well needless to say 4 weeks of hell later they were removed by another salon as the salon I went to would'nt take them out, so after 6 hours of feeling like my head was about detach from my scalp(the removers felt so sorry they only charged $20.00!!), after at least 4 extension artists checked my poor head with a migraine for 1 week I will add they told me my hair was simply too fine that was why I ended up with a headful of dreads(my natural hair dreaded) this was the most painful hair experience I've ever had, I had to go and have deep intence oil massages(gentle) before I could bear to brush my hair, I had this done for 2 weeks(OUCH!) if you have a great friend get them to give you a gentle warm oil massage or try leaving in a slimy treatment(K-Pack by Joico)& gently massage as your scalp is probably Traumatised as well, also Nioxin's scalp therapy saved me a lot of pain, it is a botanical scalp& hairtherapy product it has an amazing cooling effect on the scalp plus it is supposed to relieve tightness & dryness while delivering moisture, this really helped me , here is how it is titled on the bottle,"Scalp Therapy.",Revitalisant Botanique Acondicionador Vegetal, (under Nioxin Scalp Therapy) they have a site-www.nioxin.comtells you everthing, ok I'll finish this mini novel now!Best of luck& hope you are feelig better soon,Simone.(C).I had them (three rows of them, two would have been> plenty!) and had a hard time sleeping the first couple> of nights. Simone:Thanks for your story. I can't imagine the suffering you went through. Yikes! Why do we do these things to ourselves??? My experience was back in 1988. I'm WAY over the "hair" experiments now thank god. But I'll never forget it. Yours was much worse. Thank goodness you came out okay. My hair is shoulder-length, fragile, fine and if I didn't color it, it would have no body! As it is, I wash every morning, spray with a heat conditioner to try to protect from the dryer, and then 'fluff' a bit with a wide tooth comb. That's my 'do'. It works, but wish I had more'styles'. I can't spend the time with hot rollers (don't WANT to spend the time) and putting it up with a claw clip makes me think I'm damaging my hair more. So I rarely do that! But no more extensions for me! By the way, I do use Nioxin products. I use 1C shampoo for color treated hair. I do love it. I also use different Volumizing shampoos off and on for variety. Believe it or not SUAVE has a good shampoo out for fine hair.Take careDeb

Dear Simone,I made a mistake on the SUAVE shampoo. It's actually Alberto VO5! It's a thickening shampoo for fine hair and it seems to plump my hair up just fine. I don't know why I said SUAVE!Take care!Deb
