Yes, she is a hero. Tells what America is all about - to never give up - to fight for what is right. Though I got only a glimpse of her recently, it looked like her head was shaved. It could of been pulled back though - it was only a glimpse. Did anyone else see that footage?
I thought the same thing at first but after seeing other footage and paying more closely it was just pulled back and still long. I got excited when i thought she shaved it for the army but she didn't. I would like to see what she looks like in a buzz cut though. maybe even a short high and tight pixie. Jessica is a brave sole and very courages, my heart goes out to her and her faimly. I hope she gets a full recovery and doesn't live in pain the rest of her life, I'm glad the goverment is giving her a full college scholership, its the least they can do for her. God bless her and god bless the USA. Jessica your beautiful.
You know it could be, I got a picture of her during her rescue and she had hair. http://www.af.mil/photos/030402-D-0000G-001.html Her mom even mentioned her asking for a hair brush during a press conferance. Maybe it was Jessica idea since she is going to laid up for a while, she asked to have her hair cut off, why would the army do it? Any one else have any thereos? She is hot short hair long hair or no hair, she is cute and a hell of a fighter, people like her make us proud to American Go USA and go Jessica, and god bless all the troops.

And she only went into the military so she could become a kindergarten teacher! What a hero. And a beautiful girl. I hope she makes millions writing her story and even a movie about her ordeal. It is quite a story!
Her hair does look shaved, at least on the sides. I guess we'll have to wait until she is up to doing a press conference to see what really happened. She did look very nice in her high school picture.

Didn't the army say she had a cut of something to the head?Maybe they had to cut it to get to that.I have been hearing that she might be up for the CMH?Anyone else heard thisand are the two poeple that survied the ambush?Because they need two others to agree with her story. One more do you think that the Combat Arms will be open to woman now or in the army case they will get more combat training?Becuase I know Marines train their woman harded.

I heard today that she actually shaved her head when she went into combat for convenience. They can't wash their hair for weeks on end so it is easier to do like the guys and not have any hair.

hey demdoll... the only reason i don't think your post is correct is that if you look at the picture that shorthair gave a link for (which was taken during the rescue) you can still see she has long hair. it looks like it's in a braid or something. you can see the end of it lying beside her on the left hand side of the picture. if she did have to shave it, it was probablly for medical reasons.
good news about the kindergarten teacher issue though... she has a full schlorship to any public WV college/university that she wants to attend when she gets back. isn't that wonderful??? i think so. :) GO JESSIE!
I believe that she is beautiful with or with out hair. I just hope she is not to tramatized by this whole ordeal. Alot of of pows get post tramatic symdrom, and end up going nuts. She will be in lots of pain most likely for the rest of her life. The hair will grow back the wounds will heal for the most part but she is scared for life in the inside, its to bad that our country is so disfunctional that a pretty sweet girl who wants to go to college and make better of her self has to join the armed forces in order to get money for college. She could make a great history teacher, some day she may be in history books, and i hope she makes millions off her horrible ordeal and i hope those damm French *******S are proud of what they helped do to this poor innocent girl who just wanted a college education. Go USA and God Bless you Jessica your a brave woman and a hero in my book. My god help heal the pain of your wounds. From what I saw she looked real cute with the buzz cut.
She didn't have to go to the military to get a college loan or grant. There are far more folks who go to college with grants other than military than with military. If you don't believe me ask any major college. She went to the military because she is brave and patriotic and she probably knows many people that went to the military. Probably family members did too. That is why my husband went into the army years ago, because that is what many of the people he know did. I'm proud of her and she will be just fine. She wasn't a POW for that long and she's a strong girl with a good family, you can tell that. She will get good support. John McCain, one of the few Republicans I like was a POW for many years but he had a good family and friends and look at what he's accomplished. He's even a senator!!!!! No, this young lady will be just fine!!!!! she's a mighty strong girl!!!!! SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!!!!!!!!!!

And I agree, this young woman has a VERY GOOD family, I have seen them on the news, and she is an inspiration and a hero to all of us because of not only what she has been through but her values of patriotism, and wanting to serve the community as a schoolteacher. Very admirable young lady. She seems very mature even though she is only in her early twenties.
I think she will be fine, I hope and pray so.
Maybe some of you have been watching the news tonight. They are reporting that they have found chemical weapons that the Iraqi government had hidden.
ALSO- They are reporting that Saddam Hussein, his ruthless sons, and other top leaders of the Iraqi regime may have been killed tonight by an American bomb, and that "Chemical Ali", Saddam's right hand man who ordered the deadly chemical attacks on Kurdish villages, (therefore his terrible nickname) is also dead. This is good news not only because these guys were brutal thugs, but also because it means the war might be over soon, which means, of course, the terrible killing can stop. And that we, and the Iraqi people, can start the rebuilding process.
Let's pray the war is over soon and a better future is in store for the Iraqi people, and all of us!

She is a very fine young lady and a role model for young women everywhere. I hope she gets rich! As for her hair, I just heard on the news that she asked for some hair products so maybe she does still have her hair. I hope so. It would be easier for her to recuperate knowing that her hair looks good since she will undoubtedly get lots of attention. But hair or no hair, she is a very brave lady.

There have been more innocent people killed in the U.S. led war on Afghanistan and Iraq than the attacks on the World Trade Center/Pentagon.
how do you figure, thre were over 2,000 killed in those attacks on the pentagon and wtc. theres maybe been a few hundard killed in the wars so farthat are innocent, not counting the armed forces. As for jessica everyone is right she is a strong brave woman, and pretty with or with out hair and will be alright. She doesn't need hair to look good, she would look good bald. She has a huge heart and a beautiful sole. God bless you jessy and the soldiers to.
Collateral damage on both sides...whether Iraqi, Afghani, or American that are innocent is still bad. Nothing makes an American life better, a few hundred? A few hundred is still bad and will not make up for the deaths suffered on 9/11. Whether or not this war is right or wrong, I cannot say....Biologically, we're demostrating our animal behavior. Bush, Saddam, Bin Laden...None are pure and all are corrupt. But after we've destroyed Iraq...what next Iran? Don't believe me...Check out modern history...
About Jessica, although I am choosing to avoid watching the news. She's pretty, thats all I'll say. I am glad people are actually coming home alive and with the speculated death of Saddam, I hope our troops will be home soon, and blood won't be shed.

No doubt whatsover(especially in light of terrorist camps and weapons of mass destruction discovered in Iraq): Far more people would die if Saddam wasn't removed.
Iraq is not "destroyed". Far less damage to Iraq than to Germany and Japan after World WarII. Those countries were rebuilt, new and better governments installed and today Germany and Japan have two of the world's leading economies, nearly immpecable human rights records and successfull democratic governments. If we stay the course in Iraq,(which we need to do), the country will be rebuilt and a successfull democracy will be installed, with undoubtly a much better human rights record(wouldn't take much) than Iraq has had under Saddam's horrific government, and a better standard of living for Iraq's people(again wouldn' take much for an improvement).

To everyone who has decided to be against this war. I am also antiwar! I have been praying for the innocent lives of everyone casught in this. However...we as human beings could not let this continue. We had to make him stop or we would once again let history repeat itself like it did with Hitler. If Hitler were alive in this time, and doing what he did back in the 40's, Bush would have stopped him before millions of innocent Jewish, austrian and polish people were terminated. Hussein was doing the same thing! Not only was he planning to eradicate the Western World, but he was raping, gassing and killing his own people! This nutball had to be stopped. He is like the bully on the playground. Eventually someone has to kick his a$$.

P.S. From the pics I saw, I think Jessica would look cute with a short crop - not shaved, maybe like Ashley Judd length.
