I was wondering how everyone was doing this month? A few posted the April results, but I was wondering about the rest. Are you still in it? Any progress? Hope everything is going well.

Hey, I'm still in. I was having some minor breakage- a coupla ends a day. I think i found the culprit- my new leave-in(it has alcohol in it)- it only last a week or two before i discussed what was causing it. So for now i have discontinued use of it. Also i got cornrows today- they look so good on me- i plan to keep them in until the end of june. The girl blowdried my hair straight after a co wash and i could tell that my hair has grown a great deal lately, i had a 1 1/4 inches of new growth since Jan. Well wish me luck and i may need some support cause around the 3rd week i'm gonna wanna take these out. I plan to use castor oil , mowrah butter, sunflower butter, shapley's m-t-g and shea butter as my moisturizers. Plan on shampooing and conditioning weekly-will dilute both.

I am still here my hair progress is slow. YTesterday I got some braids so hopefully this will help it grow faster. I had been using the Pantene line but looking to change I  think it is drying out my hair.

Great progress carmel!! I know how hard it is to keep braids in. I want them out the next day! I'm so impatient. But they are good in the long run. I haven't found a braided style that I like enough to keep in a while though.

As for pantene, I think Renee here likes it. I haven't had much luck with it at all. It alwasy made my hair dry.

yeah im still in it.......oh i dont like pantene. it destroyed my hair. i heard a lot of good things about the detangling spray and got it. But i just couldnt do it with what the 3 minute deep conditioner did to my hair so i returned it. I dont use any pantene products........kally, the pantene also dried out my hair because of buildup from silicones so you should clarify before looking for a new line of products. Good luck

Still going strong!!!!

I was looking at the Pantene line awhile back and noticed that their shampoos have ammonium lauryl and laureth sulfates in them and if I'm not mistaken the relaxed and natural formula also has petrolatum in it  To me it seems like theres nothing moisturizing or conditioning about that stuff at all.

I like the Mane n' Tail Moisturizing Conditioner and the carrot creme. The conditioner is great for shedding and retaining length.

Yes, I am still in. I think my hair is doing fine. The other day I had to do 3 detangling sessions. Very painful, and I usually don't have that problem. I let this girl style my hair after I washed and styled hers. She braided my hair pretty small. The thickness of each braid was equal to a toothpick. I Kept them in for a few days, they were cute, I had them in a frenchroll a few times, but I noticed the braids were tangling to I decided to take them down, which took 2 days.  and 3 detangling sessions. Not fun.

Other than that I'm doing great! My hair is alot better, all tangles out umm after the 4th detangling!

Still hangin in there, the health of my hair has improved greatly. Now I'm just waiting on the length. I think thats really the hard part, waiting on the growth. I"m at 10 weeks post and its driving me crazy. I just wash once a week now. b/c the new groth is too much to deal with any more then that.

Mine started to shedd a bit, but I started putting shealoe on in the morning and the night , I put on my scalp/newgrowth, and on the ends of my hair and brush it into a bun, I do that once in the morning and once at night. I am also moisturizing with a mixture of WGHO, Recovery, and NTM Silk touch leave in. I love mixing stuff together, so it can be applied all at once, b/c I can get lazy at times.

Layla, I use mane n tail conditioner to combat shedding it and works really well. For a good protein treatment I used Hennalucent and afterwards I had almost no shedding. I washed my hair today and applied MNT for about 20 minutes. When I detangled I probably had about 10-15 hairs that came out from my entire head. That for me was great progress.

Shedding isn't bad I dont guess, but its caused by the two different textures, and if you just keep  the area where the newgrowth meets the relaxed hair moisturized it will help with the shedding. My bun is really nothing special. my hair isn't long enough for a doughnut bun, well it is, but its tiny and I dont like the way it looks.  I just put it up and seperate my poneytail like im gonna do a twist, and wrap the two strands around each other and secure with two bobby pins.

As Cebnn said shedding isn't necessarily bad, however some people have excessive shedding that can be caused by the two textures and sometimes certain health issues or deficiencies. I was having excessive shedding and wasn't happy with it.
