spend $100 on a flat iron, it won't break your hair.
Not sure if this happened to you when you had your hair put in but was there any cutting or layering done after the installation?
One thing I will never, never not ever do to myself, have done on me or do to others is layer the extensions into the natural hair after they're put in. I'll trim the ends far away from the natural hair after they're in but the layering is done off head.
My very first install I had done -- there was a host of problems but this was the major one in retrospect -- the gal razored the extensions to blend and razored a lot of my own hair right away with it. When the time came to take the install out, my own natural hair was thinned due to it being subjected to razoring. I had no thickness to begin with and none to spare at all so this was quite devastating to see my ponytail diameter and length whittled down to nothing.
Sorry about your hair. Like I said, not sure if that's what happened but I hope my own experience makes people think about their own hair being thinned out/shortened during the blending process.

i know everyones comments have been really helpful but if u read lilbohemains comments u can see that shes giving me attitude like im waisitng her time asking for help when i never asked her to help me with anything..

no she didnt razor or cut my hair after the installation. i know what ure talking about, ive seen what my friends hair looked like when they got it razored and it looked really bad when they took their extensions out so i didnt let her do any cutting to my hair

I remember that when I was wearing fusion, installed by me, not a professional, I saw my natural hair getting shorter and shorter between installs.
I didn't have the same routine that I have now (sulfate-free shampoos, shower filter -thanks sherrie!-, heat protectant) but I believe that the strand by strand method wasnt right for me because my hair was super thin and fragile.
I love the Protac / LG method a million times more!!
And since I wear Protac and have a better routine, I see my own hair growing again.

ur hair got shorter from fusion not thinner rite. thats exactly what happended to me and i thought i was just goin crazy...

Yes, I really think what messed up my hair was the wrong method for me + the wrong routine
I did notice some hair loss both in volume and in length, not just in length. I think I had too much pressure on each little keratin bonds and some of my natural hair was pulled out.
But I do believe that the way you take care of your hair every day has a huge impact too.

after using clip ins, my first longer-term install for DIY was microrings....my unrefined ablity to install, my too-aggressive brushing (with the wrong brush), and already overly-bleached hair all came together in the universe to make the most horrendous discovery when i took them all out after not quite a month
i had many areas of breakage, up where the rings were installed...but the overall result was hair that looked SHORTER....there was NO mid-strand or end-of-strand breakage, but apparently my longer hairs were the ones to get pulled/broken from my crappy intall and care
i have successfully worn wefts installed with protac and Liquid Gold since then, my hair recovered.....but i also have taken steps to treat my own hair better, you can find a lot of good information on hair boutique in the 'long hair care' section.....good luck with your hair!

eep nursie! you've got me all nervous about those two rows of micros i have now!
I wonder if I did a little damage to my hair with the few microrings I installed. Fortunately it was just a few, but those suckers HURT wearing them. I have to believe they were pulling my hair out by the roots because I hadn't installed them right. I would think that professionally installed microrings in healthy hair wouldn't cause much of a problem for most people.
i had researched a LOT about microrings because i didnt want to put anything sticky in my hair.....but my technique just sucked (even though i still thought i looked real cute!)...if i had a trustworthy pro to put them in i think it would be the method i'd still be using....i could never get used to laying my head on the pillow with them though

You know extensions wont danage the ends of your hair. They either would pull the hair out from the root or snap the hair at the bond
(on bad installs or removals)
I know you dont wanna hear it agen but its the bleach and flat ironing....dosent matter how long youve been bleaching it or last bleached it.
THE FACT IS bleach damages your hair regardless...and from your pic it looks platinum blonde.
M hairs naturally black and i used to bleach it to. And eventually it snapped off from the ends. Id bleached it for about 4 years, my regrowth anyway.
The blonder u go the more u damage it, with bleach u gotta remember ur STRIPPING your hair.....ur opening the cuticle and removing the color. It weakens it incredibly. Its probably snapped off like mine did, tho i took good care.
U might benefit to go a shade darker and cut ur hair a little shorter. Use clip in extensions for now. If u gonna stay really blonde then keep ur natural hair short, having bleached short hair is much better as its cut regularly. Fact is its pretty imposible to have thick, long bleached hair...
