This highlights an on-going pet peeve of web "news" stories about a celeb's new style that could be debunked with with a 5 second search on wireimage or gettyimages.  Sure verifying a hairstyle isn't as critical as confirming WMDs, but if you are going to write the article, at least have the integrity to take a second to verify the facts.

And yet, there she was on The View just a few days ago.... Interesting! Maybe he dyed and cut a wig for the shoot. If not, It appears she got extensions!

Excellent point.  Since cover shoots are usually done anywhere from 4-6 months in advance, cutting Kate's hair and dying it platinum means that she had lots of time for her real hair to grow out long enough for extensions.  Not to mention that Kate like many celebs, do wear extensions...as you pointed out....and wigs.

Pita's assistant did say he cut Kate's actual hair for Vogue, not a wig.  After Modern Salon confirmed it, I called his New York salon and talked to an  assistant who said he cut her actual hair, not a wig.

In some cases you would need to talk to a celeb's hair stylists on a daily basis to keep up with what's going on...was it cut, was it not cut, is it a wig, is it not a wig, extensions?   

Of course in some cases, the celeb doesn't want the media to know the true scoop about their hair.  Ashlee Simpson never wanted her celeb hairstylists to confirm she was wearing extensions, even though she was and it was very obvious. 

Ditto for Geena Davis who didn't want anyone to know what was really happening with her hair.  She had some hair loss issues due to chemical treatment incidents and the birth of her twins and she made her stylists promise not to tell the press what was the true scoop.

In all fairness, sometimes a celeb uses multiple stylists in a short span of time so it's hard to get the true scoop and once you do, they've already changed their hair again. 

Which may explain in part why she was short in New York for Mildred Pierce and then long on The View.  If nothing else, it keeps her name in the media just like Jessica Simpson who made it to Yahoo trending today because of her faux haircut.

I like Kate Winslet more on long hair than short hair. I wish her hair will grow fast.

She looks better with longer hair, the short style makes her look older then she is.

She is so pretty
