I AM SO SORRY TO EVERYBODY WHOSE TCP HAD A DEFECT! I REALLY HOPE THAT DOESNT HAPPEN TO MINE. I JUST ORDERED IT AND I AM EXPECTING IT IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS!! TO EVERYBODY OUT THERE WHO IS SO SHOCKED THAT THE TCP DID MALFUNCTIONED LIKE THAT, U SHOULDNT BE. HONESTLY, EVERY BRAND OF FLAT IRON HAS HAD PROBLEMS FROM MY RESEARCH. I WAS GOING TO GET THE CHI BUT ALOT OF PEOPLE SAID THAT THEY BROKE IN LESS THAT 6 MONTHS. BUT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE SAID THAT THEY HAVE HAD THEIRS FOR YEARS. I TRULEY BELIEVE THAT YOU SHOULD JUST TRY OUT THE TCP, AND IF YOU DO HAVE A DEFECTIVE ONE, JUST REMEMBER THAT IT HAPPENS TO A LOT OF THE TOP OF THE LINE FLAT IRONS AND IT DOESNT MEAN THAT ALL THE TCP'S ARE MADE CHEAPLY. AND TRY TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK IF YOURS IS BROKEN. I HOPE THAT I HELPED SOMEBODY!! PLEASE EVERYBODY, KEEP POSTING YOUR REVIEWS, I AM VERY INTERESTED!!!!!!!!!!
For those users who said that their TCP burned their hair off, which website/phone number did you get yours from? I wonder if it is the same company (there are 2 phone numbers that I have seen thta people have ordered from, so are they different sellers of the same item or is one just actually a cheap knockoff of some sort??) who sold the irons or if it's just a fluke that unfortunately happens...any thoughts on this??? THANKS for your imput. I am seriously thinking of buying one of these. Also, the two phone#'s I've seen for buying one via phone are: 888-80-style and 800-593-6117 (the phone # I got off the infomercial). That's why I am wondering..is it the same seller/company selling both or what? Kind of confusing.... Also, does anyone who bought one at one of the "As Seen On TV" stores, is there any warranty with it buying it that way?
I would not buy it from a the "as seen on tv site" ... I've bought things from that site and they always seem like used returned items ... just go to the real site which is https://www.asseenontvnetwork.com/vcc/advancedbeautytrueceramicpro/absceramic/127158/ ... and this is the number ... 1-800-574-0357.
I AM SO EXICTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i just got my true ceramic pro in the mail about an hour ago and i cant wait to use it!! the amazing thing is , is that it only took 11 DAYS TO GET TO MY FRONT PORCH!! i read all this reviews about how it took 5 or more weeks to get to their house, but i am very lucky and got it sooner!! everything was packaged very nicely with both bottles of hair sheen and heat protecter sealed in plastic so i know it wasnt used. i am very excited to see how everything turns out!! the only thing that dissapoints me is the 6 month warranty, but other than that, everything is fine!!
For anyone who is looking for a cheaper alternative to the TCP, I think I can provide some options. My first suggestion is to try out Curlmasters 2" wet/dry iron (available at Sally's Beauty). This iron, like the TCP has 100% ceramic stone plates (Curlmaster has others that are coated, but the 100% ceramic plates will be white, and clearly marked on the box) This iron is also wet to dry which means you can use it on towel dry hair and it will not scorch or burn the hair or scalp (all wet to dry irons have little vents on the side to release moisture) This iron also has removable comb attachements and reaches 420 degrees (hotter than the TCP!). But the best thing about this iron is the price. I think normally it costs 69.99 but with coupons and discounts (ask one of their sales associates for help) I got it for 45.99 before taxes. They also have this iron in 1" plates, but it is not wet to dry. My sister also has Sally's Ion Anti-Frizz iron (89.99) this is also a great alternative, it has 100% ceramic stone plates, a ceramic motor, and reaches 400 degrees and leaves hair silky and shiny but between the two, I find that I like the former (Curlmaster Wet/Dry) much better. I have never used the TCP, but I can't imagine that it would do a better job than my curlmaster, esp since my iron has all the same features, plus more! I suggest you try out the Curlmaster first, Sally's has a 90 return policy with receipt, so if you don't like it, you can always get your money back, and put it towards the TCP.
Hope that helped someone, feel free to email me if you have any questions (Enchantingeyes @ gmail.com
I was looking at the TCP, but would prefer to spend less. From an earlier reply, I decided to look at the hairart flatirons and found this one discounted http://www.misikko.com/hat3toceflir1.html Reg. $160 on sale for $60 I just might pick this up.
Also, I not to sure that the TCP is that much better than the rest. If the iron has true ceramic plates, than it will probably cost over a $100, but get the job done. http://www.misikko.com/flat-irons.html?pageNum=4
Wow, really bad about the True Ceramic Pro plates burning right off of the iron. If I've learned anything it's that things always looks better on TV than they actually are and it's much easier to hang onto your money than trying to get it back. I can't believe the company's indifference to the problem - you would think they would be happy to help and just glad no one was seriously injured. I'll buy something local where I can GET MY MONEY BACK if I have problems.

I purchased the TCP from Advance Beauty Solutions and at first I was totally thrilled with the iron. It definately straightened my VERY hard to straighten hair. I have thick curly hair (which is not unlike a horses mane!)
I used the iron at a medium setting and for the first few days it was fantastic (I started out lower and nothing happened so I moved up to a medium setting around 250 or so), HOWEVER, my hair is now very dry, brittle, frizzed and cracked. In fast, when I run my fingers through it, it falls out in pieces. I am DEVISTATED! I have tried intense conditioning hot oil treatments etc but nothing works. My hair is definately fried. I have no option but to chop it off and start over.
I was alarmed to find that most people here had a positive experience - I wonder what I did differently????
Anyone who had their hair damaged by the TCP - any advice on what you did to try to make your hair look somewhat normal again would be appreciated. I'm ready to shave my head. My hair was always very soft and healthy and even though I couldn't straighten it myself, when my hairdresser did it, it looked FANTASTIC and shiny.
I'm so sorry to hear about your hair ... I was wondering if you have ever used it on WET hair or did this happen from using it when your hair was dry. I have been using my TCP for 3 weeks already ... about 5-6 times per week. I bought this Heat Protectant Leave in Treatment from Infusium 23 that I use EVERY single time BEFORE I use the TCP. At night I use this High Potency Repair Treatment by Fantasia called IC Hair Strengthener ... here is their website--they have GREAT PRODUCTS that may help ... http://www.fantasiahaircare.com/HP_IC_Products.html
So far my hair hasn't been afflicted with any noticable damage ... However, I know that in some ways I must be damaging my hair regardless of how careful I am with treatments and all that ... heat is heat and it has and always will cause damage to hair ... I know that I should probably minimize the frequency of using my TCP but I simply cannot go back to how my hair looks without it ... I LOVE my results and I hope I'm not asking for trouble by continuing to use heat on my hair.
Keep us updated about your situation ... Sorry again :(
I ordered my true ceramic pro, and haven't tried it yet. It was definately an impulse buy, and i'm totally regretting it (at $140 holy cow!). Anyways I'm writing this response because I find most of the previous posts in this thread to be suspiciously bubbley and overly detailed, kind of like the infomercial. Hmmm... I guess I'll just have to see the "truth" for myself.
That's so funny you should say that ... I thought the SAME EXACT THING when I first came to this site and I still think that there might be some people that work for the TCP posting on here ... some of the posts are waaaaaay too "infomercial-y." I am glad that I'm not the only one who thought that.
But, I have to say ... I do not regret ordering the TCP at all ... I use it almost every day (probably really foolish of me, but so far so good). I would say if you try it for the free 30 days PLEASE BE CAREFUL ... let it heat up for a while first and make sure it doesn't melt or anything ... I was SHOCKED when I read all those posts saying that the plates got so hot they melted or worse ... burned peoples hair off. I've had my TCP for about a month now and EVERY time before I use it I make sure it's not OVERHOT ... I'm very careful now since I've read those horror story posts. Plus I keep the heat setting between 270 and 340 ... That way I don't fry my hair too much ... I'd seriously DIE if anything bad happened from this thing ... I wouldn't let them get away with that sh*t that's for sure!!!!
Anyway, keep us updated :)

HI there: Thanks Krystle for your suggestion about the infusium treatment. I will try that. I went last night and had about 4 inches chopped off most of my hair, so most of the damage is gone, but my hair is so short now!
I only used the TCP on dry hair....
The hairdresser told me that this is a really good ceramic iron and that shouldn't have happened. She suggeted I try even lower heat and use some sort of product on my hair to protect it. I will try the infusium treatment!
Iron, i ordered mine in january (on the 7th i believe) and i still haven't recieved it! i checked my credit card statement and they didn't charge my card yet either (which means that they don't have it "ready to ship) its been OVER 6 weeks (i ordered off the canadian site, which says it will take 3-6 weeks) i asked them to cancel my order, but they haven't gotten back to me! i'm very disappointed!

I have been reading the posts for a while now and because of the positive posts I ordered the TCP.
It's been about 3 weeks and I absolutely love it. I am hispanic with dark brown hair. I highlighted my hair a few days before I received the iron. I have never dyed my hair before that. My hair is thick but not coarse. My hair straightens rather easily with a blow dryer. The reason why I bought the iron was for the humidity factor mainly.
If anyone is skeptical about that let me tell you no more bad hair days. It rained the next day after I used the iron and my hair was still the same. With time now my hair comes out even better, just make sure you seal in the ends.
I just tried curling the ends yesterday because I wanted a little more body. It curls nicely with practice but they don't stay that long. But I didn't use the thermal styler or hair spary before I used it just after.
I don't have to use it every day, and I wouldn't. I wash my hair once a week and it stays the whole week. My hair goes back to being curly with no problem.
I deep condition every week with a heat cap. I used Sebastian's Colorshines Cellophanes 2 days ago and this stuff is amazing!!! I used the clear. I can see the difference right away. My hair looks so shiny and healthy. For those that never heard of it it is a no peroxide, no ammonia, non permanent rinse that comes in colors or in clear. It states on the bottle that it gives high shine and superb condition and it is true. You can use it every 3 weeks I have been told. It is much better than any other treatment I have used. You need to use with a heat cap or under a dryer.
cammie, I agree not to flat iron your hair everyday. i also wash my hair once a week so my hair doesnt get damaged by the flat iron. my hair has a tendency NOT to get oily fast so you cant really tell that i havent washed my hair for so long. i'd also recommend getting your ends trimmed on a regular basis, probaby every 4 to six weeks cuz if you dont take care of your ends, they may start breaking just a little. i hope this helps!!! i love the TCP!!!
Hello After reading the post I ordered the tcp, it took me 2 weeks to get it, I just received my TCP, and in response to earlier post I read about post sounding to bubbly, I definatley do not work for tcp. I loved the results, I have to say though, I have mid lenghth very curly ethnic hair , not to mention a lot of it, It did take me more than just one pass to straighten and it did take me longer than ten minutes, but overall it did a great job from others I have had. I previously owned a chi , and a revlon ceramic straightner and the tcp definatley gave me better results than I have ever had before, my daughter has a lot of hair as well, I plan on using it on her this evening, I will keep you posted. :)
