too many restrictions-what to do

No cutting. No dyeing. No perming. Maybe curling.
No dreads. Nothing really radical. No highlighting.
These are the rules my father enforces.

My hair is two inches below my bra line, straight, dark blond. I wear it in a bun, half-ponytail, ponytail, half-braided pony combined with a second ponytail, 2 braids, 2 small pigtails in back.

It`s spring break and I wanna go back with a different look. Nothing real extreme. Just something noticable. Any ideas? Ihave a little over a week to decide so pile up the suggestions.

Hey you said it right in the post title -- too many restrictions. I`d love to help you out but you don`t really have many options. Why is your father so strict with your hair & what happens if you do one of those things? I don`t know how old you are but at a certain age, a girl/woman should have the right to wear her hair the way she wants, & not how daddy tells her. (Or anyone else for that matter.) Sounds like your hair is quite long & you already seem to wear the standard styles. The question you need to ask yourself is, if you could do whatever you wanted to your hair, & your father didn`t have all those rules, what would you most want to do. I`m not suggesting you do that, just think about it & it may help you figure something out. Since you have a little time I`ll try to think of something, & get back to you, but you should think about what I said, & if a big change is something you really fancy perhaps you should sit down with your father & talk about it with him. Find out his reasons for these rules, & see if you could negotiate some kind of deal with him.

Who`s stopping you? Have a Rage against the Machine! Dye it all purple or whatever unnatural colour to annoy them! Don`t let other people stop you from doing what you want with our hair, you`re you and you decide!

That is really mean to put all those restrictions on you! But maybe you could get it braided into lots and lots of little braids. i think that fits w/ the restrictions, they`re different, and they can look really good of you get them done by a professional. thats really all i can think of! HIH
