    Posted: October 15 2006 at 8:04pm
This was my very first install of hair extensions.

I used Bohyme 613 and 613/27 silky straight 18" purchased from Sherries store.  I installed with Protac for the very first time and it was a breeze.  Total prep and install took about 2 hours.

I have 4 double wefted rows in the back and one double wefted row on each side of my part about 2" down.  I used a total of 4 ounces of hair.

I do have a slight problem with color blending.  I bleach my hair and leave a little bit of the underside of my hair my natural color.  I thought the extensions would cover it since my WAWA clip in's do, but the brown shows through a bit.  I think I might take out the bottom row, dye them to match and reinstall.

These pictures are without cutting or blending.  I go to my stylist tomorrow for a cut and some blending.

Please excuse the messy curls.  I hurried so I could go out to eat breakfast!

Here they are...

Oh, and don't cut the brown out... either dye the ends of your natural hair lighter or try putting one row of a darker color across the top of your head. I would suggest a 18/22 by the looks of your pictures.

Don't worry Kristen...I would never cut my natural hair out!  I was getting the extension hair cut yesterday for blending!

I have decided to put a double wefted row of brown at the very bottom to help with color blending!  I'll post pictures when I'm done!

I love it, I couldn't really tell about the darker part until you said something about it, it's not really bad.

Your natural hair looks beautiful too, at first I thought that pic was one with extensions in too!!

Hey Malibu...I am getting used to having it in.  The first couple of nights it was hard to sleep because my ponytail felt so heavy!

I did not realize how much longer it would take me to get ready in the morning.  I was late for work on Monday because it took me 1/2 and hour just to blowdry it!LOL  Then I straightened it!!!

I had to seal a few of the ends with LG because they were lifting slightly and I am paranoid.

I went more than 48 hours without washing it when I first installed it, and believe me girl, I would have never gone that long without washing my "regular" hair EVER!  This is just a whole new me, and I'm loving it!!!Clap

So what do you think of using protac so far??? I usually use liquid gold, but I'm thinking about doing protac, does it hold up well?

Hi Barbiegirl...I love your avatar.  I am obsessed with Marilyn Monroe!

To answer your question, I love using protac so far.  I am a really anal person, so I have sealed all my ends with LG and they are holding like cement!  The protac was so easy to use.  This method works great for me.

ohh that is good to hear! do you mean by sealing the ends, the part where the tape and the weft meet or where the tape touches your scalp?

Thanks for you help! :) I love Marilyn too! She is my fav!

I put a dab of LG on the ends of the protac strip and press it down on my hair so the ends will not lift up.  So far it has worked pretty darn good!
