I was definitely underwhelmed by HB's return to her signature ratty, chopped up, super short look. Maybe a beautiful 30 year old can get away with that, but on a 44 year old woman it's just downright aging (her mom always seems to sport some kind of similarly blonde chopped up look: is there an influence there?)Anyway, I'm glad to say there is a definite change for the better on the cover of September's Vogue. HB looks gorgeous--with the help of a Louise Brooks type bob. I'm not sure if it's genuine growth or a wig--but at least she's trying something new. I rather feared that having gone back to the old look she'd stick with it for another 10-15 years! At 44 that super short style is just too stern.

Don't like it

Actually, I don't like it too much either (though the photos are stunning). It's just that I have this idea that HB might be ready to wear her "default" style for the next 20 years--and any change or movement away from this, has to be a good thing (for the reasons I give above).

I think if HB can't be bothered with extensions she might take a tip out of Toni Braxton's book and have a lot of fun with wigs: as regards hairstyle, she needs to change things round a bit.

Her hair short is boring and tired imo. I liked it 20 years ago, but this rehash just feels stale to me.

     Her attire is even less appealing than her crop-top haircut. A nice face only goes so far for me. Maybe she is tired of the glamor, and dowdy is just fine with her. Who knows? Bob
