I was definitely underwhelmed by HB's return to her signature ratty, chopped up, super short look. Maybe a beautiful 30 year old can get away with that, but on a 44 year old woman it's just downright aging (her mom always seems to sport some kind of similarly blonde chopped up look: is there an influence there?)Anyway, I'm glad to say there is a definite change for the better on the cover of September's Vogue. HB looks gorgeous--with the help of a Louise Brooks type bob. I'm not sure if it's genuine growth or a wig--but at least she's trying something new. I rather feared that having gone back to the old look she'd stick with it for another 10-15 years! At 44 that super short style is just too stern.

I'm 100% certain that it's a wig. Last current pic I saw of her, she maybe had 2" of hair on top, close at sides and back. I agree with you, Fat, that the crop is too severe for her at 44. Interestingly, there is a magazine ad for perfume that still uses a gorgeous photo of Halle from the time she still had her glorious locks at their longest. (It's got an orchid background.) They must agree with our assessment as well.  Bob

Agreed...photos are stunning. I'm with Bob S. I actually liked her best with her long hair extensions. IMHO she looked softer. I know hair extensions are a pain to deal with, even in the best of circomestances so I understand why she went back to a shorter style, whether it's a wig or not. ------------- That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger or drives you totally insane. :-) |

Her attire is even less appealing than her crop-top haircut. A nice face only goes so far for me. Maybe she is tired of the glamor, and dowdy is just fine with her. Who knows? Bob
