Hi Jo!I have tried many salon straightening balms and shampoos on my loose curls (i.e. KMS, Paul Brown Senscience, Redken, Nick Chavez). Even though I still believe in good, quality styling products (My bathroom closet is loaded with salon brands), after much trial and error, I have found that Citre Shine Straightening Balm is the ONLY balm that doesn't leave my hair feeling dry or greasy,... just soft, soft, soft. The softness is probably due to the built in heat activated thermal protectant. I highly recommend this very inexpensive product!
I have tried Freeman's Super Straight Hair shampoo,its supposed to make your hair frizz-free as well as straighter and shiny.It worked okay, , and even though its a store brand, it did unfrizz my hair and make it a little straighter, but I know that there are other products out there better. But I have to say, along with the unfrizzing, etc. it made my hair very dry.So, I don't recommend these products but if you're in desperate need, I guess its okay to use it once in a while.

Hi LittleO,Citre Shine Straightening Balm can probably be found at your local drug store. I get mine at Rite Aid or Eckerds. It only costs around five dollars and a little goes a long way. Because my hair has loose curl, I use the balm with a blow dryer to get it really smooth. Most straightening balms require the use of a blowdryer. Also, I forgot to tell you,...although this balm has a built in "Therma Shield Compex" I like to use a tiny bit of cream conditioner with it, just for extra moisturization and protection. I hope that you are able to find the balm, it really works and it has a great citrus smell. Let me know how it goes!Sherry

I've tried three brands and had varying results1. Sebastian's Get it Straight: I absolutely hated this product and it was a huge waste of $20! I made my hair very sticky and hard to blow dry and when I finished I had a head full of frizz. I definitely do not recomend this product.2. Citre Shine Staightening balm: I really liked this inexpensive product. It made my hair very soft and shiny. After a while my hair began to look a little greasy though so it might not be good for oily hair, but if you use a clarifying shampoo this is a great product to try.3. Rusk's STR8: This is my absolute favorite product! It's not super expensive and it lasts for about 4 months. It makes blowdrying soooooo much easier and my hair comes out silky smooth and shiny, never greasy. I would highly recomend this to anyone who wants natural looking straight hair!!
