Has anyone ever tried 1 cup of olive oil w/ two tsps. of cayanne as a tonic for growth? I saw this posted in a news group as being a super fast hair grower. I have not tried this, but it seems rather harmless. I just want to know if anyone had ever tried this and was there anything to it?Thanks....Anita

Hi,I have tried it. It does cause the scalp to tingle tremendously. I saw a similar recipe in Riquette's book on growing hair and tried the cayenne/olive oil version 10 years ago when I had my bout with hair loss. I am not sure that it did any good, but it did make my scalp heat up. I also tried Basil oil mixed with olive oil as well. This also burned and again I am not sure if it helped or not. I think the fact that my scalp was tingling made all the difference in how I felt...like I concluded that something must be happening if my scalp was tingling. If you try it...keep us posted.Best wishes,Karen> Has anyone ever tried 1 cup of olive oil w/ two tsps.> of cayanne as a tonic for growth? You put a small amount on, massage, and style your hair as normal. It's used on dry hair. The purpose of the pepper and massage is to create stimulation to your scalpand hair follicles, therefore; you would use it every day on your dry hair/scalp. BTW, someone mentioned a good alternative to cayenne. It was mentioned that you can use habanero pepper instead. Habanero is a much hotter pepper and will be more effective. Cayenne (ground is what you use here) can be bought in your grocery store for very cheap (spice isle). Some regular stores also carry ground habanero, but your best bet w/ it is a ethnic grocery or health food store.AnitaP.S. If you have some sores or irritated spots on your scalp, don't even try this until you heal! Ouch otherwise!
