It seems like every leave-in product I use on my hair always leaves it feeling sticky and tangled and when I brush my hair it sounds like I'm breaking it. I'd just like to know what ingredients to look for that are coating the hair and is there a texturizing cream or conditioner that simply moisturizes and really does leave your hair soft and not stiff. I've tried Infusium, Citreshine, and Potion 9 and they all leave my hair feeling like I coated it with hairspray. I feel like I need some kind of leave-in product since I haven't been able to find a regular conditioner strong enough to fix my damaged hair. Thanks!
Hi there! Most leave in conditioners conatin fixatives (look for PVP or acrylates coploymers) and this is why your hair feels sticky-- it's actually like a mix of conditioner and spray gel. If you have read any of my posts before, you will know that I am not a fan of leave-ins, rather i prefer to use a very small, pea sized amount of my regular conditioner as my 'leave in'. I have been doing this for years and it works very, very well. I get better conditioning benefits that a reg. leave-in, but without any sticky, coated feeling. I think that you should give it a try. Best of luck! PS- I also have damaged hair and loose curls, so I think this would wotk for you, just be judicious about the amount that you use.Sherry~> It seems like every leave-in product I use on my hair> always leaves it feeling sticky and tangled and when I> brush my hair it sounds like I'm breaking it. Is there a conditioner you would recommend that wouldn't weigh my hair down (it's also thin but I have a lot of it). I know you're a big fan of ARTec but it just didn't work for my hair. Thanks. :)
Hi Roberta,Actually, during the past few weeks I have kinda been shying away from ARTec. I have loose, curly hair and I beleive that it has been wieghing my hair down. So, I am now trying to search out products that are moisturizing, yet light. Have you ever tried the Biolage Conditioning balm? Althoug it is rated for dry, overstressed hair, I think that this stuff is very light, yet moisturizing. I have also been messing around with Rusk Sensories Calm Condtioner- also very light. In addition, I am thinking of trying out the Bumble and bumble conditioner. This conditioner is marketed as a leave-in or rinse out, so I bet it is nice and ligt too. I'll let you know. If you like the regular conditioner you are now using, I would suggest trying that out first (remember use a tiny amount, and emulsify in your palms). Take Care!Sherry~> Thanks for the info, that makes a lot of sense now. Is> there a conditioner you would recommend that wouldn't> weigh my hair down (it's also thin but I have a lot of> it). Hi, Roberta,Have you ever tried Aveda Elixir? I use a dime-sized amount everyday, and I love it.Good Luck,Clare> It seems like every leave-in product I use on my hair> always leaves it feeling sticky and tangled and when I> brush my hair it sounds like I'm breaking it.
