First I would like to thank everyone for all their advice and help with my hair situation. it has been very appreciated. This is the thing- I bought some Metalex( expensive!) at Sallys and followed the directions to remove a semi-permanent color that was put over a permanent color in the hopes of starting all fresh. Well I left it on 20 minutes, rinsed it out and my hair looked the same. Should I just give up trying to get rid of this too dark, burgundyish color and wait for it to fade so I can put my regular permanent color over. At this point I think I have tried everything.Susannah
> SusannahI suspect the combination of using semi perm on top of the perm color resulted in your hair being quite porous, and really taking that semi perm color. that's most likely why the metalex didn't do a very good job of lifting it out.I think the least damaging thing to your hair, at this point, is to simply let the color fade out. I suggest using a good clarifying shampoo, as well as deep conditioning treatments (to help your hair recover from all the coloring/lifting).You could opt for some heavy duty permanent color remover, but these can really fry your hair.good luck to you, silvie
