I have light golden brown color-treated hair and would like to go lighter, but I am really afraid of bleaching my hair and the damage it might cause. I realize that without bleach I can't be an out and out blonde and that's o.k. I just want to go as light as I can without getting that brassy/orange look. So, my question is, what is the lightest I could go, without turning orange or brassy in a one-process coloring-at-home treatment? What color should I buy, and just to be safe should I add a red/gold corrector to my color formula?Thank you very much for your advice.

There isn't a drastic difference when you see the out-growth at the roots compared to the color-treated area, although it is a little more golden than my natural color.----------------------------------------------------------> what exact color product was used on your hair and is> the color lighter or darker than your 'normal' color?> please post and i will try to help> williamAnswer: It was Matrix and permanent, but I'm not sure what color was used. A stylist did it, but didn't tell me what the name of the color was, and the stylist has moved back to the East Coast. Yes, the color is a bit lighter and more golden than my natural color. Since I have about an inch of out-growth, and I'd like to go lighter, I thought now would be a good time. Thanks for any advice you may have for me.Marie
