Hi William...Thanks for all of your previous advice with cuts, etc. I have naturally light to medium ash brown hair down just past my shoulders with goldish highlights around the face and a couple on top going down the back. I also have permanent color from back in May that is growing out that is a warm medium brown, while my roots are highlighted against my natural ash brown color. I have used Shades several times to blend. Anyway, my highlights are nearing the 8 week mark and I would like to attempt to do them myself since I am only interested in face framing and crown highlights. I would like to veer away from the goldish or reddish tones though, since my natural base color is ashy. Any suggestions? Thanks. As always, I really appreciate your professional advice.

Tammy-i would like to help you with this, but the combination of your natural hair color and the colors you are using is not something I've ever attempted at home. I can tell you, however, that to avoid gold/red tones, defintiely stick with a color that is either neutral or ash. This is a case where I would suggest you visit the salon to have it done. Of course, I realize you're probably posting this message because you want to do it at home.I apologize I cannot offer you more advice. William is really the hair coloring/highlighting expert. I hope you can offer you some tips.good luck :) silvie

To Tammy; Please use a hi-lift product in an ash blonde shade with 40 vol developer. Use a frosting cap if an overall hi-lighting is wanted or a simple weaving for just around your face. Be sure to deep condition a few times before and after to keep your hair in good shape and definitly do test strands.william
