In the U.K. thyey are running the Farrah Fawcett biography on the biography channel (probably the exact same show that aired in the States, and I watched it because I like her hairstyles-I like the styles that basically were post-"farrah" hairstyles, that were variations on the famous style.

In one part of the biography, they show a clip of her getting out of a car and her hair was very full and mega layered all over. This was I think a few years after she was on "Charlies Angels" and it was layered from the crown to the ends and I think in the back, too. It was long, too, about midback. The style was a lot more layered than the original famous style. It was a short clip but did any poster notice the style and anyway what do you think about a person having this style nowadays? Frankly I don't think today's styles are that great except once in awhile and I think maybe this particular variation on the famous style style, whether in or out, is one of the sexiest styles to wear. What do you think, would a person just look out of date, or could these variations on the famous "farrah" style be considered a timeless classic look for hair?
Hopefully someone here has seen the clip that i saw but feel free to post anyway.

I guess it goes without "writing" that I was thinking of getting this style and I used have a version of it when I was teenager. Right now I have long to my hips hair that I wear sometimes layered on the crown only but now trying to grow out the crown except for the bangs. Thanks.

Actually, I kind of liked the very layered "Farrah" hair - I usually prefer short hair. It does lend itself to a sexy appeal. You do have to watch out that it doesn't overpower your face - you don't want to look like a lion. Also, what kind of time will it involve and are you willing to take that time (I don't know what is involved). I am always in favor of changing hairstyles - I think that too many people get stuck in a rut. Whatever you decide, keep us in touch.

Hi JES,

Thanks for the opinion. I wore this style in the early eighties, so I know how much time can be involved!:)

If I go through with it, my Husband will pay for a visit to Jose Eber as a birthday present to get the style from the stylist who, while I don't know if he was actually the original creator of the style, he definitely did variations on the look. However, this won't be probably for a little while, but I will keep you posted.

I loved that style. I think the shag has the greatest hair cut of all time. I always take notice of a women in that haircut. No matter if she is big, small fat or thin, there is something speacial about a women in that style.

If your husband is willing to forgo the money on the originator, take him up on it and post pictures.

I would love to see some pictures of you in that style. I might pay for it myself if you look that good in it.

Tom,

We want the women that visit this site to feel like they can share without men hitting on them. I don`t believe that you were intending to do that, but I suppose that it could be read that way.

Speaking of Farrah Hair, I have a new website which deals with something very close to Farrah Hair. Instead of explaining here, take a look

I don`t want to be a party pooper, but isn`t "Farrah" hair a bit, well, Retro?? I mean, to me it brings back the 70s, otherwise known as "The decade that style forgot". All those layers, was that not a bit excessive? I always thought she looked like someone dragged through a hedge backwards.

It was o.k., Tom, I wasn`t offended. Thanks to Dave but I was o.k. with being asked for pictures. Thanks to Jeff, too. I just don`t post pictures on the net.

Phil, some of those styles worn by women who try for the "Farrah" look really don`t get the look down right.
I don`t really want the style she first was famous with, I want the post "Farrah" look (1978?) where it was layered more on the top and even more layered and down to mid back. Yeah, it has many layers and has a lion look, but I want that kind of a look. Thanks for your opinion, I did ask if people thought it was a classic or a dated look. However, I think your thinking of the "poster" look she had. Do you think the style I described is also too dated, or a classic?

Hope I get more opinions!

Thanks,
Happyblonde

Yeah, I tried to see the Farrah pics too. I see all the other pics, but not Farrah`s!

PS Happyblonde...I know which look your thinking of, its the really layered look, not just the side wings, right?
Its a cool look, especially if you don`t mind the maintenance. Also, you could always wear it up if you wanted to, and leave few pieces down for an easy option. Anyway, I think some of those looks are coming back so YOU would be helping to set a NEW trend so go for it!!
