I have dark brown hair, or should I say had. I used a color remover witch turned my hair a bright orange/red..the box said that is the color my hair should turn. Then I used a dark brown hair color.. made by the same company...MY HAIR IS PURPLE! I`ve tried other sites, I don`t understand those color wheels. All I want is my natural dark brown hair back. I hope some one can help.

I have the same problem. I used Loreal Feria # 55, Cinnamon and now I have bright purplish cranberry colored hair. I just reviewed the results this morning and am in panic mode at this very moment. And for you people that say try a salon - yea right! They are expensive and can also do damage - been there... Also, I have never had this problem before. I am usually happy with my color and do not know what happened this time. Need help ASAP!
Hey guys Sorry to hear that your hair colour is troubling you- but like the last post said, purple hair is definitely cool- especially if you have pale skin and green eyes- looks excellent! But if you really hate it, I would reccomend going to a colour correction specialist at your local salon- yes, it will cost a little bit, but, in disagreement with the previous post, it really isn`t too expensive! You`re looking at about £100 for your hair to be done perfectly (sorry, I don`t know what that is exactly in dollars) and it`s really worth it because they do a really good job. The person who claims they did damage to their hair has obviously been to a bad stylist. If you make sure they`re trained fully and have a good reputation (do you have Toni & Guy over in America???) you should have no problem. Best of luck Heather
I`m not sure why your hair turned purple, but if you want your natural dark brown hair back, you are probably going to have to use a filler.
A filler involves repigmenting your hair. For example, you will have to purchase to boxes of a dark brown hair color.
You first apply the COLOR only, without mixing it with the developer, to your hair. Then, with the second box, you apply the color normally, mixing it with the developer.
What I don`t understand is why you used a hair lightener on your hair if it is naturally dark brown when you only wanted to apply a dark brown shade. This seems like an unneccessary step to me and may have made your hair very porous, which resulted in your hair "sucking up" way too much color.
