I have naturaly curly hair and when i was little it looked okay. when i was in the fourth grade i started to wear my hair up and slicked back all the time and now the top is straight and the bottom is curly. i want to get my hair straightened professionaly but i've heard that the chemicals will make your hair smell and wont last very long!!! is it true? and when i straighten it with a curling iron, how much damage does it do to my hair?

i dont know about straightening it, but while you still have the curly hair you might as well use it!Try scruching it with gel while wet and spraying hairspray on when you are done!
