my install *that needs help*

thanks for your replies guys, this is my first full install, i kinda did a few rows with ph hair and then stopped cause i wasnt liking it *ph is a bit rougher feeling in the shower..at least to me* but the hair itself i loved. haha yah i know about the trimming thing im going to have my friend help me with that even though she doesnt know what the hell shes doing either but hey that is what fun about diy right?  

kalika its hard to see in the pictures sorry, its not a huge problem really its just that the wawa doesnt match my natural hair, my hair is much much softer and babyfine and my hair is one solid color where the wawa is highlighted so you can kinda tell where my hair ends but like i said i think just putting a little bit of human hair inbetween to match the texture would help that problem, the only question is what color is my hair?  i dyed it champagne blonde but now its a little bit lighter than that and i wanted to do the pretipped pack from extensions plus, a 24 maybe? 

ooh and amms shrinkies rule! yay for amm!

Wow... that looks awesome... and natural.  Did you use amm's shrinkies to bond all of the hair??  How many times did you burn yourself? lol.  I just bought some shrinkies from her and can't wait to try them.... just afraid of the burning part. It's so hard for my to do the back of my head.  Congrats on your great sectioning!

Gingerhead,  teach a friend to do it and trade installs.  I don't mean to be flip, but I believe it takes a very special (and agile) person to do the back of their own hair with shrinkies (or any method besides clip-ins).

     The last time I tried my eyeballs hurt from looking up in the mirror behind me, and I strained my neck.  That's kind of why everybody who manages it gets the double thumbs up.

hehe thanks scotchy i am a very special person, in the head! muhahah.  honestly guys doing the back of your head is finding your comfort level.  when i first attempted this a couple months ago i was finding it hard to do and went through the same thing your going through. ill explain how i do it so maybe it can help a few of you all out. 

So i get 2 full length mirrors, set the first one up against my computer desk put a small chair in the middle and set the other one up opposite.  I sit in my chair and angle the mirrors until i can manage the closest vision of the back of my head in the mirror. *your mirrors should NOT be aligned, one mirror should actually be more to the side and then when you need to see the other side of your head just get up and turn around* make sure all the lights in my room are on *lighter helps* and make sure my glasses are on.  start my first section *i actually find the hardest part in all this to get a straight line going when parting my hair*.  When i grab my first section and pull my shrinkie through i put my pretip throught the shrinkie hold my hand close to the shrinkie to keep the pretip in and clamp down for about 2 seconds on the shrinkie, release and then lift the extension hair and natural hair up away from my scalp and then proceed to finish heating the shrinkie.  Will it take a little getting used to? YES sure will, but just keep trying and youll figure out small ways to position things to help.  now the only problem i have when installing is sitting still cause i get very impatient.  good luck!

p.s. yes ive burned myself a couple of times but i dont seem to mind, maybe my head is just so thick it doesnt really matter!
