sometimes when i see commercials for black hair prdoucts by lines like garnier and pantene relaxed and natural, i wonder if they are really formulated for us. i went out and bought all of the pantene relaxed and natural products and used them over the whole summer. i cant say i really got any results from them,like i thought i would. does this mean all the so called "black hair care lines" are really just for us? when i use regular products that are not specifically for us,i get the same results if not better. i think some companies are just marketing to black women knowing that we care about our hair so much,but their products are no different. what do you think?

You shouldn't really pay attention to marketing. They aren't marketing to benifit consumers, they are doing it to make MONEY. They are relying on you to think that their product is something special and made just for you.... when it's not.
There are tons of products that are marketed towards different races, that can be used by anyone.

IMO, those commercials are just that..marketing. If you ever look and compare the ingredients for so called "black" products to their "white" counterparts you'll notice they are basically the same. The main difference being AA products usually contains mineral oil or petroleum. And if u research further you'll find they'll have the same parent company that manufacturers these products. I think finding what works for your hair is key, not specifically who it's marketed to.
ITA with the others. Even things that are marketed to kids-- are basically the same as the adult kind. Relaxers too. Kiddie perms can burn your hair out just as easily as an "adult" one Cornering different markets and "playing up" to certain groups keeps the companies pockets lined. Shoot, all they have to do is put "growth" on the front and they won't be able to keep it on the shelves.

I agree with everyone also. I think that black and white hair care products are basically the same, just marketed towards different races. I use any product that works good on my hair no matter who it marketed towards.

Yep, it's all marketing same ingredients but different packaging and they'll attract a different audience, L281173 that's why I laugh when people say you can't use 'white' products in our type of hair yet they use things like Dark N lovely.
