That totally sucks! For that much money you should be enjoying them!
Does this stylist do any other methods? There was a thread similar to
this several months ago. I think the person got some of her money back.
She was saying that the salon was telling her it's too bad but
eventually they did give some compensation.
I'd love to see what your clip ins look like. Do you have any pictures
of them? I'm a big fan of clip ins. Sherrie is right about protac. If
you want a more permanant method you would have no trouble installing
them.
Good luck!

The above poster makes a good point~ the hair not matching is a pretty big deal and your stylist should do something to rectify that. Good luck to you:)
BTW~ Your clips ins look great! You did a super job.

Okay I am learning here about different extensions methods, and why would you use synthetic hair, when you can use human hair? Second I have been a stylist for 20yrs and I feel she should fix her error or give you back your money. She knew that hair didn't match,so many stylist are money hunger and some just don't have skills, but you know when the hair does not match. PLEASE DO NOT LET HER COLOR YOUR HAIR.RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN. She should have a policy. I only know how to bond right now, but I always match the texture and the color to the clients hair. I take them out to the natural sun light, and I have never ever had a mismatch. She should be ashame of herself. Good luck to you
You can ask for your money back, but I bet the stylist won't give it to you. First of all, I never have this problem because I do a very complete consultation and after 15 years of doing this (and wearing them myself) I really know my stuff. But if I totally had missed the mark with what a client wanted, I would offer to redo the extensions at my cost or if a redo wouldn't be an acceptable resolution, then I would give the money back.
I do the Prohair method and overall I like that method, but it's true that the attachments are very big and chunky, thus lending themselves to a 'stringy' look. I like Prohair fiber and it can look very good if it's blended properly, and that will depend on how well the stylist is good at gauging the color of your hair and blending it.
Because I am fond of Prohair fiber, what I have been doing lately for some clients who want the fiber is taking the hair and making my own pre tips and use my micro rings to apply. It's a lot more work on my part but the attachments are not nearly as big and they blend much better with the natural hair.
Sorry that you are having problems. Good luck to you.
Im so sorry to hear of your bad experience. If you made your own clip ins you could easily make yourself some protac strip extensions. You just measure the wefts to fit your head, place the protac strip over the track, and then press onto your root area....its super easy for a DIYer to do.
You obviously already know where to buy hair that works for you, since you said you had been wearing the clip ins for over a year. And you already know how much hair you want to wear and where to place them for the look you want. You can easily recreate the same look you get with clips, with the pro-tac strips/wefts. If the hair you have for your clips is still in good shape you could even reuse that hair.
As for getting your money back...I dont know. Some places wont give any refunds. Some places may refund the labor portion of the bill. But you may have to eat the expense of the hair. If you signed a contract you'll need to take a look at it to see waht the policies are.
sorry those pics are so big!!! I tried to resize and they did not show that way when I sent the post. Those pics are NOT the bad extensions. Those are my everyday clip ins.

I have been wearing clip ins that look great for over a year. I made them myself and they are perfect. I just wear 2 rows in back for a little fullness. ( see pic of me in clip ins).
Well, I decided to get my first "permanent" extensions yesterday for a trip out west with my boyfriend. Thought it would make the daily routine easier not having to fumble with clip ins.
OMG!!!! They are HORRIBLE. She made the pieces way to fat and chunky and used synthetic hair that looks like horse hair just after one night. My own hair is brown and blonde with distinct red undertones. The hair she put in is dark brown and some ashy light blonde. IT looks greenish!!! OMG!!! It totally does not match at all.
My BF when he first saw it told me it looked ultra fake and did not color match at all. Imagine opening the door and hearing that from him. He is right, He is an ignorant man and just was honest.
The stylist is meeting me this morning with the plan of cutting the extensions and shaping them and she wants to dye my own hair on top to match better.what??? No way.I am taking them out and going back to clip ins that I know look good. I am athletic and like taking them out to workout anyhow. I am pissed, though. now I have to spend all day prying these strands out w/ pliars. ( She used prostyle method w/ no glue, thank God. They come out pretty easily ) and then I need to make a new set of clip ins for my trip.
I am pissed. I want my money back. I paid $600 for this cr*p in my head. I should have listened to my gut feeling. She did not have a portfolio and the sample hair did not look good. Is it right to ask for the $$ back? I was at teh most posh salon in my city. I figured she knw what she was doing and her own pics looked good. Of course, cause she did nto install it on herself!!! This might be a really expensive stupid mistake.
Any advice on how I should approach her? My mom owns a salon. She would refund. She wants happy customers. This sucks.
