i have been going to this beautician for about 1 year, and am so happy with the full  cap weaves.  My natural hair is now past shoulder length,  with  a tight curl pattern.  The only problem i have with it is styling.   I like the low maintenance of wearing weaves because of my sports activities, i am extremely athletic.

my boyfriend likes my spiral perm weave style, like most guys.  He also knows i have natural shoulder-length hair, yet he wants me to have it permed,  flat-ironed,  or blow-dry styled...the very same styles i can wear with a weave cap.  He says he wants to "run his fingers through it".  Well, ladies to be honest about my boyfriend, he's pale, fat and bald, which means i don't  have sh*t to run my fingers through, so why is he sweating my head?

My ex-beautician (thank gawd I left her)  flat ironed and permed my natural hair, long time ago. Even though i kept up a good regime, it started breaking off.  My boyfriend saw the breakage and understood then..now, here we are a year later, and he's starting up again..  Sometimes, he'll even crack jokes about it "looking good, but who's hair is that?"

which brings up another topic...I take the time out to take care of myself, my looks, hair, education, skin and body.  I wonder sometimes when i am approached by guys who obviously don't do likewise - where do they get off?
some days, it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.

Men are weird, and we allow them to get away with it.  Tell him how you feel, you'll be happier, and maybe he'll lay off.

I agree with everyone as well, tell him how you feel and if he is a MAN he should respect that

Ditto. MeN..some of them have this deep relationship with length and texture of a woman's hair. I don't agree with the bf's problem with the style that YOU prefer for yourself. Hair ain't the thang ..the only thang that defines a woman's beauty it's the mind and heart of that woman that reflects it.
beauty is in the eye of the beholder;make sure that your vision of it doesn't blind anyone elses!

babyautmn I couldn't have said it better myself; if he insists on you changing your hairstlye even after you told him it hurts your feelings when he says stuff like that, FORGET HIM.
