Perlane®, the latest hyaluronic acid gel filler has been available in Canada and England (and Europe) but now appears is available to US consumers as of June 1, 2007.
Perlane® is considered to be a longer lasting wrinkle filler and experts say that it can last for anywhere from 6-9 months before another injection is required. It is also considered to be better, according to some cosmetic doctors, then Restylane® especially for very deep folds that require a strong or thicker filling agent. Perlane® is often recommended for deep facial folds such as the nose to mouth lines or lines around the mouth.
Perlane® has larger hyaluronic acid gel particles than Restylane® although some doctors layer the two fillers together.
A numbing cream, spray of anesthetic block can be used when having injections into your face.
