My poor hair!

I am a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor who, although somewhat naturally dry, had ok hair. But because I`m sweating it up now two and three times a day, it`s a tired old mess! I try not to wash it every day, but if I don`t it`s a horror to behold! Flat, limp, frizzy...ick!

Furthermore, I seem to be losing a lot more than I ever have. Not a moment goes by that I`m not picking a loose hair from my head...or off my arm...or off my leg... You get the point!

Aside from quitting my job, is there anything I can do to protect my hair? (It`s straight and just below shoulder length.)

Well, actually their is a way to help this problem. I have heard others with similar problems and they have said they put their hair in a bun but keep it wet. This allows moisture to hold in the hair which will prevent it from breaking and coming out. It also freshens your hair as well. So try putting your hair in a bun with it dampened and you should see a difference. Hope I could be of some help......Gary

Have you recently done anything to change your routines?

Changed Hair products?

Changed or started vitamins?

Changed your diet?

Changed medications?

Have you changed your styling routines at all?
For example are you wearing ponytails suddenly but weren`t wearing them as much before?

Keep in mind that on average you naturally shed 40 - 100 hairs everyday. The old hairs are pushed out by new hairs growing in their place. Is your hair actually shedding or is it breaking off? Shed hairs usually have a little white or clear bulb on them. Note that you should not feel a shed hair coming out, if you are feeling them then they may be being pulled out.

I haven`t really changed anything, except my workouts are more frequent with the addition of new classes, etc. And, of course, with the additional workouts come additional pony tails. I know they`re to blame for a lot of my problems. I figured I was shedding them as the ones I`m finding are quite long, but I haven`t really examined them. (LOL, I just checked one...it did have white on the end, but I`m not sure if it was a bulb or a split!)

Perhaps I`ll try the dampened bun as mentioned above.

Something`s gotta work...right? ;-)

Thanks so much!
