Is a China Doll box bob haircut in fashion?

My daughter had a "back to school" bob haircut.  I asked the hairdresser to make it short but wasn't expecting it to be as short as it was.  She cut it mid ear and then clipper shaved her neck.  My daughter didn't mind the haircut  but I nearly died as it reminded me of one my mother gave me when I was younger.  The hairdresser said it was in fashion to wear it this short but I haven't seen any other girls with it cut like this.  I have to admit after about 2 weeks now the hairstyle is growing on me.

In my experience a hairdressers Idea of short is much shorter than the average womans ! Is it a blunt bob or an angled one ? Did you ask for the neck to be clippered specifically as usually hairdressers only do that if you ak for it and if you don't they usually just cut the hair under the bob shorter with scissors. What did you actually ask for her to cut ?

Yes, I assume she thought you wanted your daughters hair cut the same way as you have yours. As long as your daughter is ok with the cut I don't suppose there is any problem. So you weren't there while the cut was being done ? What did you think when you came back and saw the results of the cut ? What did your daughter say about the cut afterwards ?
