Actually, I was thinking of certain adults I know who haven't grown out of it. Sorry, Monica, I know you really don't want to hear that!

I have a problem with touching other peoples' hair. I dont mean it as flirting, but it's often misconstrued that way. And when I'm with my b/f he often freaks out about how much I touch his hair. It's not even something I do conciously.

There are people chewers and animal chewers. I have had several dogs when I was growing up that would chew on my hair is it was down (well mostly puppies.) How that I work at a vet clinic, I wear it up in a bun secured with a scrunchi. I don't need any animals chewing on mine!!! Yes I actually get close enough to their mouths to do it too. If it is a larger dog it is easier for me to sit on the floor to do my job than trying to pick up a 50+ lb dog to put on a table!!!

I play with my hair 24/7. People I know think its funny because they all see me as the steryotypical punk who doesn't care about clothes and such and Ill sit there with my brothers clothes, no makeup, and ill have a mirror and be playing with my hair the whole time.

I just do it because my hair is really soft (which is weird because Idye it all the time) and I like to touch soft hair. My friends hair is really fine so its all downy soft and fluffy and I always play with her hair.

Hmmm, body language...

It depends I think on the type of touching. hair tossing and fliping might seem like haughtyness.

Tugging and pulling between the fingers, shyness or nervousness.

twirlling could be absentmindedness or deep thought (ironicaly)

Runnign through fingers might be vainity...definately.

Or maybe just an indication that the wearer enjoys the tactile sensation of it... ?
