I don't know!! Date Posted: January 12 2000 at 5:24am Hi, i am hoping someone can help me with my situation. I have dark brown straight, smooth hair and got my hair cut 5 weeks ago for the first time in about 6 months and got it layered. I am very happy w/ the cut BUT now I am noticing that some strands, mostly on the "outside", not the hair that is underneath(did that make sense?) is becoming very black, coarse and wiry. I started to pull them out (came out easily) thinking it was dead (Can hair die?) but there is a lot of it! Is my hair burnt? I don't lie in the sun but when I am out I do not use a hat. Can it be trauma from the cut? What are the effects on the hair follicles? I am also on the Pill and read that a side effect is loss of scalp hair, although my hair is not falling out it doesn't look healthy. I got Citre Shine and it made the rest of my hair super smooth except for the outer strands. Can someone help me/ Thanks for reading.Karolyn Replies:
