I remember back in october or november how i was
counting on a certain length by the end of december
and then the end of january and my hair has reached
my goal, so far, for some reason i didnt think it really
would, i guess i assumed i'd have a setback or
something or that my hair wouldnt grow fast enough
but if i have no setbacks i should have my goal of
more than 18 inches by the end of the year,, right
now i wear three tracks of 18 inch extensions with
most of my own hair out so it looks like long layers
and the 18 inch extensions have always seemed so
long to me so it would be a dream to have more than
that by the end of the year
right now im at almost armpit length in front,, armpit length on the sides and
nearly brastrap in back but it seems so thin when i
flat iron it and i cant stand that!! ,, i think im too used
to the weight of having weave hair in,, i think the trims
i did have really helped keep it look healthier and at
some point i'll do more cuz my ends look somewhat
thin and i hate that look.....

hi runawaydream,, well i wash once a week, with
Creme of Nature Clarifying and also Neutrogena
Triple Moisture Shampoo (NTM) and after the wash I
use a reconstrucor for about 10 mins,, either Nexxus
Emergencee, K-pak or Redken Deep Fuel and I use
a recon EVERY week becuz my relaxed ends are very
damaged! ( tho some ppl dont take the protein well),,
then I shampoo out whichever recon I use with the
NTM shampoo always (even though the instructions
do not say to shampoo out K-pak or Deep Fuel) and
then follow that up with NTM mask for half an hour or
longer ,, then rinse and spary my hair with Nioxin
bliss, air dry and the next day I flat iron using
Fantasia IC heat protector spray and for moisture
through the week I use NTM serum and Phyto 9 ....

Lol....it's funny because we do our hair so much alike it's scary.  My mom was laughing at me the other day because she says I do my hair in "stages"....meaning it usually takes me 2 days .  I'll start on Friday evening and finish up Saturday morning .

          | LOL!! really?? i would have imagined I was the only
one who took 2 days to do their hair but we have the
same hair type and i know that hair in the 3's is a
HASSLE and one day is not enough lol!! anyway my
hair has changed drastically since i discovered
hairboutique and now that i try to limit heat to once a
week rather than once a day its just getting better
and i can actually see having long hair in my future
and you are definitely my hairboutique hair idol

          | I know I'm late but CONGRATS on your growth progress! And its good that you limit the heat (which also makes a BIG difference in the long run)!

Thanks girl .  My hair has changed a lot since coming to hair boards also.  It all started with HairBoutique because this was the first forum I came to so this one feels like home. You're right about cutting down on heat.  It makes such a big difference!!

I started out on blackhairmediaforums but couldnt
post and got fed up and then totally fell in love with
this forum,, i also found that on the
blackhairmediaforums that i didnt really see anyone
with my hairtype so its more difficult to get advice if
you dont have similar hairtypes and thats frustrating
and i have that same feeling that hairboutique is
 home
