How does one use fillers when going from highlighted hair to their natural shade of brown. Say, someone has bleached highlights and they want to be a level 4 med. brown.....I understand the undertones will be dark orange, so I will have decide how much of that I want canceled out. For instance, if I want a golden med. brown, I might not use only an ash med. brown, but mix in some neutral med. brown too and then a tad of blue based toner. If no warm tones are desired then it would be a mix of only the ash and the blue....Right?
The ash cancels out the dark orangey tones and the blue cancels out the ash overtaking my hair and turning it green and if I still wanted a little warmth the neutral still allows for some warmth to still be in the hair.....okay....correct me if I am wrong, please, bc I am just trying to make sure I have this all right???
Now, to the fillers.....I gather you have to add some pigment back to stripped hair, so in order to reach brown, you have to apply some red.
Now is this red like a red haircolor..is it permanent, semi, demi....??
Do I use developer...10 or 20?
Or is this filler like ....it seems I read something about using a protein pack as a filler???
So, do I apply the red filler, let it process and rinse off and then proceed to apply the brown color mixture..........??? OR
Do I apply the red filler and then top it with a coating of the brown haircolor mixture??
And what shade of red do you go with ....light, medium, dark or does that depend on the light, med., or dark brown you go with....like they correspond with each other???
If this info is on the website and I missed it...sorry and if you know where it is, could you, please, tell me where.....Otherwise, any knowledge on this subject is welcome bc I am just trying to get a handle on it.....thanks!
