So, I've spent the last couple of months trying out some new hair and such. Here are my experiences. I'll post pictures of my latest install (elite thermo) tonight.

So, I purchased lovely virgin indian hair off of ebay. The seller is "Productcheap" and she only posts a few batches at a time. I bought the 18 inch (8oz) and was very happy when I received it.  A few days before my install, I washed it (it smelled strange) and hung it in my bathroom to dry (much to my husband's chagrin)LOL

I thought I'd post another little trick I learned this weekend with the downy and elite thermofiber. I wet the ends down with downy (I usually use velvasil) and then flat ironed it. It came out so AMAZINGLY soft. Today (Monday) is day three after this experiment and the ends are still soft (not super soft like they were when I first did it, but soft).

do you water down the downy at all, or use it full strength? i have some elite thermo and its really pretty, but i've shyed away from installing it because i usually wear my hair with some curl....do you always wear yours straight, ever wavy/curly?.....i wish you'd post a pic of your hair!

HI Nursie,
I know, I know! LOL I have to get my husband to take one tonight and I'll post it up. I promise!

I keep the downy full strength, but obviously put it on while my hair is still very wet and then flat iron it so that probably waters it down a bit. The last time I used elite thermo I curled it and I didn't like the results (ends got fried - but I've learned how to fix that now!Smile and I don't know...it just looked odd to me when it was curled), so this time I've left it straight and I've been flat ironing my hair. I like it so much and I'm going to stick with it for a while (until I can afford some russian!). I am going to try to put a little wave in it this weekend using the downy and the velvasil and see if the curl comes out any better. I don't like  CURL just a wave so I'm not sure how I'll achieve that, but we'll see. Depending on my success, I'll post picies I promise!

Frenchie & Malibu

Frenchie - yours looks AMAZING! I read your post earlier today. I'm so sad the bohyme didn't work for me - but perhaps I just got a bad batch and I did get the bodywave. If I try it again I'll do the silky straight.

Yes, Malibu, the downy makes it smell INCREDIBLE. I was sniffing it all day Saturday. LOL

Cat_Goddess, I think the bohyme silky straight is more silky than the bodywave. The silky straight has some wave to it (slight) and I found it did tangle more than I would have hoped for.

Yes, that's what I have read too, that the silky straight texture was the one that has the longest longevity -not sure of this word!-
compared to FR or Bodywave...
Cat Goddess, I too have had a bad batch of Bohyme in the past. Now I only use handtied wefts and I have only had great hair
