 It is a method of constructing a formula with the help of a sufficient number of concrete examples.

 It is a motivating and stimulating method of teaching mathematics. It is mostly used to teach Arithmetic in primary classes.
 At the primary level students are not able to properly analyze the difficult parts of a given problem in depth.
 If a teacher directly introduces the rules or laws to the students then their core understanding of that topic will not develop and they could memorize that only.
 It is always a good option to begin from the examples in primary classes so that the teacher could arouse the interest of students in the teaching learning process.
 The teacher should first give examples i.e., 2+2=4, 8+2=10, 4+4=8, etc.
 Then the teacher should tell the students to observe the digits (2,4,8,10).
 The students will observe that these all are even numbers and they will act as a discoverer to draw conclusions with the help of their teacher.
 They will selfdiscover the conclusion that "the sum of two even numbers is even".
Hence, it can be concluded that the inductive method will be more suitable to teach the abovementioned concept.

Deductive 
 It is introduced by Aristotle. It is a teachercentered approach. It promotes convergent thinking.
 The laws and formulas are presented before the students in a real form and the children learn them on their part.
 It is mainly used in trigonometry, geometry and algebra which is mostly used in a higher level of mathematics teaching.

Analysis 
 In this method, the teacher usually separates the things that are together to start from what is required and then traces the connection between it and the given data.
 This method helps to analyze the difficult parts of the given problem to find out its solution. It is based upon the heuristic approach and inductive reasoning.

Synthesis 
 It is the reverse of the analytical method. The facts, data, and information are combined in a single form and various operations are being performed to reach a solution.
 It is based on the deductive approach. The thinking and reasoning power of students are developed through this method.
